WJBR sold to VCY???

There's no way that entire 11pm hour was a coincidence. It was (arguably) all flip songs! They clearly weren't told what time the plug was being pulled, but it certainly seems that whoever put the log together figured midnight was a pretty likely time.

Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You) - Kelly Clarkson
Time of Your Life (Good Riddance) - Green Day
Photograph - Nickelback
Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) - Journey
Bye Bye Bye - NSYNC
See You Again - Charlie Puth
End Of the Road - Boyz II Men
Before You Go - Lewis Capaldi
Don't You (Forget About Me) - Simple Minds
Closing Time - Semisonic
That's what I was thinking! That was not a coincidence. Honestly a shame that it didn't go out on that note. Would have been perfect. I had my tape rolling ready for the flip. I guess it might just happen randomly at this point now.

When WROZ got sold to God, the station had weeks of goodbyes, a big 5 p.m. sign off and then the station and dark for about a couple days and then God took over.

I remember when WTPA in Harrisburg signed off in 2018 after more than 30 years… pulled the plug in the middle of a song with mi announcement, and the final morning show where they all said their goodbyes was days prior. Im thinking this may go like that. I actually managed to get that one recorded too lol

Still kicking with promos for the morning show and commercial free music as of 1:30pm. This has yet to be smited by VCY….

Death watch…. As of 2pm, still playing music, commercial free and broadcasting the WJBR station call letters.

Edited……

Stuff like this never makes sense to me. VCY should have had all their ducks in a row, but they've owned the station for 14 hours and they're not yet utilizing it for their business (propaganda) purposes. So, they're just letting the computer keep playing music and no one's making any money off of it. As for the morning show promos, if I were one of the last Beasley employees out the door, it wouldn't occur to me to take them out. At that point, why would I care? I'd have been more inclined to add Christmas songs to the log. (Would that make it a yule log?)

As I stated earlier in the thread, the call change does not take effect until closing. It is still legally WJBR-FM.

VCY does NOT own WJBR-FM yet. Everything is originating from Beasley still.

No consummation has been filed with the FCC. And what does it matter how the flip happens? We as radio geeks (me as a guy with over 1000 format change airchecks archived) care, but the audience is not going to be retained. At closing it wouldn't even surprise me to see VCY take the station silent for a bit as they are doing in South Bend. They will still need to install their satellite dish and equipment at the transmitter site etc...

Let me correct myself, they are still going off the WJBR call letter.

As of 2:22, the station went out twice and came back with the JBR music playing.
