WJBR

Is WJBR basically a Philadelphia station wikipedia says that it is. And is WJBR a good biller

It's the second highest biller in Wilmington, but it's about 50% below WSTW.

And there are five individual stations in Philadelphia that alone bill more than all the Wilmington stations combined.

As far as I know, WJBR does not show in the Philadelphia book.

Long time ago in a mythical galaxy called 'Bethesda', there originated a form of intelligence that punctually (and quickly) became widespread in print.

All the 12+ ratings of every station making 'the cut' showed up, even those numbers from non-subscribing stations. It has to've been ten years now since the lurking mothership 'Arbitron' decided to utilize a shield to prevent non-subscribers from profiting.

I worked in Philly at the time when the 12+ numbers included all the stations, and I recall things like WCOJ 1420 from Coatesville showing with like a 0.4. Coatesville is three counties west of Philadelphia proper.
In that book, there was WJBR, with (iIrc) a 0.5.

But that was quite some years ago. At the time, I was working at Eazy 101, now WBEB. Before that I had been at Kiss 100 there, another soft A/C.
Well, jumping into that pile came WSNI (now WRFF). I'd do my homework, mostly a music monitoring, by tuning in all of them.
Of the four stations, I considered WJBR to be the best-sounding -- the most 'authentic', for lack of a better word. I don't mean in terms of fidelity ; I have one good ear. They had, and have, a huge signal as well. But I regarded them as the best of the four soft A/C's on the dial ... professional, tight, almost aloof. They definitely deserved their 0.5 share. Shoulda been more, imo. But Philly proper had three more 'local' approaches to the same basic format.

They finally shut their HD2 off, simulcasting the main signal for months instead of putting something worthwhile on it, SMH.
