WJBX Bridgeport

It's now around 30 years since I made the dreadful mistake of relocating to Bridgeport to work at this attempted resurrection of the old WNAB frequency. Anyone reading this who was part of this ill fated attempt to revive a once proud local AM outlet?

Especially wondering the whereabouts of owners Jon & Betsy Hoffman. Does Hoffman Oil still exist?

Not sure about them - but a few of us still exist! I had some great times there, but I only had a 15 minute commute :)

Hoffman Oil is still in business. They sold the station and made a profit from selling the tower site. I believe there is a Home Depot there now. The call sign is now WCUM and has a Spanish format. The antenna is a multiuser tower and the coverage is far less than was realized from the tall tower WJBX employed.

I'm a WJBX alum, as is my wife. Roscoe on-air... she was Candy. That place was quite the trip for about a year or so. Just recently saw another WJBX alum, the traffic manager at the time. Hey, Mike! Hope all is well! :)
