Congrats to life after radio
WJCL/Savannah, GA Program Director and afternoon host Gerry McCracken plans to retire from the Cumulus Media Country outlet at the end of July, after a 45-year career in radio. He spent nearly 20 of those years with Cox Media, serving as Country Format Captain while acting as PD at Country KWEN/Tulsa and WHKO/Dayton. McCracken has also worked at WSOC/Charlotte, WCOS/Columbia SC, KBBG/San Francisco and WKRO/Daytona Beach FL. Additionally, he served as OM of Cumulus/Lake Charles, LA.
In a post on his Facebook page, McCracken said, "If I don't call it quits now, my OCD will keep me going until I reach 50 years and there are other things I'd like to do. I have no regrets. It's been a fun ride."
