WJDQ-FM Airchecks

Does anyone out there have any airchecks from Q101 that they wouldn't mind sharing?

With the recent discussions regarding the WJDQ Wikipedia page and the flood of memories regarding this heritage power house, I think it would be greatly apprciated if those who have airchecks from any era of the Q would be kind enough to post them on the net for all to hear!

I know that airchexx.com is a popular site for presenting great airchecks of stations and times gone by and I offer it as a suggestion to anyone who would be kind enough to share any Q airchecks that might exist out there.

Thanks to all!

Oh, I've got airchecks all right.... but I'm not sharing. Overnights in 1980 can't be nearly as interesting to you as it was to me.... it is truly the 8th Wonder of the World that my radio career was not snubbed out in the early 80s.... thank God WJDQ didnt have Scott Systems.... but, you know what, I would not trade a second of that experience for all the tea in China...

I have several old airchecks, including one of Chommie's last show. I'll see if I can turn it into an MP3.

I just sent a couple of bits to Airchexx. It's from an old disc I had of the Q Morning Zoo from 2004. Might take them a day or two to put it on the site.

Thank you! I look forward to hearing them!

Somewhere......there lies a box of old cassette tapes......hopefully of some decent quality. And if I'm lucky, VERY lucky, one of those tapes were left in the machine after morning drive AND, there sits a rare jewel starring YOU Andy Bob. That sounds like a good weekend project.

After looking everywhere in my house, I finally found the Chommie tape. It was in my apartment in Pago Pago, of all places. I'll get it converted to MP3 and will let everyone know when it's available.

Here's a link to John Chommie on Q101. It was from an Aircheck Factory tape from March '81, so the aircheck is probably early '81. It was on a 26 year old cassette tape that I had to perform major surgery on to get it to play. I have another tape of Chommie's last day on Q101, but I haven't found it yet. Thanks to Joey Cummings at KKHJ for getting it dubbed and posted. Joey was only 3 years old when this tape was made!
