WJES

No takers on the South Carolina board so I thought I would give it a try here. Anyone know whats up with WJES am 1200 in Saluda SC. I was listening to them here in Cincinnati this past Saturday, March 15 at 9:30pm eastern and the signal was pretty good. Do they have a habit of not powering down at night or would that be the time that they would be on their critical hours pattern? I don't think I made that catch while they were broadcasting at 4 watts.

Thanks,
Ron

The virus that causes forgetfulness has apparently been going around in South Carolina because I have been picking up WQIZ 810 from Charleston, SC (interfering with WGY) lately. Started showing up about 2 weeks ago and they pop up about 2-3 times a week now with their EWTN programming. I've been hearing them between 8 and 10 pm and, at times, they come in quite strongly.

I heard a clear station ID at 9 pm one night when they were busy out muscling WGY (in PA, no less), so I know it's WQIZ, St. George/Charleston, SC. A station that is supposedly licensed as a daytimer.

Pretty good bounce for a 5 kw station though.
