WJFN now WFYQ

WJFN 970 is now WFYQ. It's still country. Does anyone know if it will be changing formats? The audio on both the FM and AM has been a little low lately. The AM station is lacking bass. I would rather it stay country, since it's hard to get any classic country in Jackson.

The AM is also dead air. Its been that way since friday. I can no longer pick up the FM station since they moved it. The AM signal is usually very good at my location, but the audio for both AM and FM has been low for quite a while and is often drowned out by static. The AM especially needs some tweaking. I've noticed that Ken Michael's voice overs have been removed and 87.7 has changed them also. Maybe they are under new management since the call letter change.

Not sure what they are doing, but they are back on the air playing a black gospel song called "I'm Walking" over and over in a loop with the legal ID. I guess I'll have to go elsewhere to get my Conway Twitty and Merle Haggard fix.

actually my original post was incorrect. The call letters were changed to WFQY. Not fyq. If they are now WQSY that means the call letters only lasted a few days. I wonder if the new format will be black gospel. Hallelujah FM and WOAD already have that covered.

FM is back on the air. The AM, which had no bass suddenly had the bass turned up too much. Now it's boomy and muddy.
