WJHM Power Increase

Looks like JAMZ is going to go up to about 92Kwatts. That would give CBS three monster signals in the market. They got their CP from the FCC about a month ago. I wonder when they are planning to get this done? If anyone knows please post.
Just a side note: They could've gotten up to 100Kwatts if not for a little 1Kwatt station in Vero Beach. Apparently the Station in Ft. Myers decided not to build out their CP and lost it. Therefore, allowing WJHM to increase.

Probably WCZR, nearby on 101.7 from Vero.

No way that Vero station could make it into the Orlando market, West Palm would be a possibility, but it would be a weak rim shot at best.

No, no, no...The FCC has rules in place to protect stations from interference. Imagine when tropo comes in around Vero Beach and you get interference from WJHM on 101.7. It could happen!

That is exactly correct, WJHM is not worried about Vero Beach / Vero Beach is worried about WJHM. It's a protection thing more than anything...what I have found out and it's very interesting is that if the signal would have been a simple 100 feet shorter WJHM could of gone to 100Kwts. That is so close...you may ask why that is important. Well retail value of the stations is why...though 92kwts is pretty close you would be surprised how a 100kwts rings clearer and better to people when resale is involved. Then again I could be full of crap and it doesn't matter in the end...what really matters is that WJHM will have a serious coverage advantage over competitors. Not too often a station get's a 30000 watt increase now-a-days. It will be interesting to see what affect it will have on ratings. I have heard some rumblings that they will be able to get into houses deep in South Osceola County. I don't beleive PYO or CFB will be able to match their signal...I also heard they are going to try and get that done by the end of the year. No major engineering needed according to my source just some transimission line change at the transmitter. New tube and Transformer so it is a real time line in my estimation. Apparently their engineering department has a lot going on and they will try to squeeze this in by the end of the year...we will see.

Nice one. The station will have a pretty clear signal from Ocala to Palm Coast, and from Haines City to Cocoa Beach.

Charles...NOT Cocoa Beach.... I told you I'm looking seriously into Brevard County >>>APE!!!

that orange city tower is a monster. They'll be on par with 105.9 and 107.7 with a solid signal from St Augustine to Tampa. They already show up regularly in the Gainesville books.

Yeah...you got that right, man.

I can pick them up with a clear signal on my car radio south of downtown Jacksonville...they (105.9) can put a fuzzy signal when the tropo's right right across the border into Georgia and I can usually get them about once a month up here in Hilton Head, SC!

Granted, I'd take the Bithlo stick any day...it's probably 20 miles closer to Orlando and puts out a mad signal as well.
