WJIB Audio

Hey,

I would email WJIB directly but I don't see an email link so I'm hoping a post here is noticed.

I've been driving in Boston a lot lately and I noticed the audio quality on WJIB is pretty poor of late. Very, very narrow with no low or high end to it.

I have a late '90's Ford with factory AM stereo/wide bandwidth tuner and when I lived in Boston I listened on a Denon TU-680NAB so I know how good 740 sounded in the past. Hopefully it is just a temporary malfunction or mis-adjustment that can be corrected. Most everything else in the area sounds better even the IBOC stations with restricted analog bandwidth.

I've noticed that too. WJIB's audio sounded very good until at least a few months ago when there was some sort of problem, and since it was repaired the audio has been very narrow.

Up here in the Beverly area, WJTO (0.730) comes in only about a half to a third as strong as 'JIB, but the audio processing is definitely better (more meaty compression! P=).[/B]
