WJIB The Memories Station

ha,
>>One person from Norwood wrote to Bittner that his “liberal sermonettes” were “a small price to pay” for WJIB’s music, while a more disgruntled listener from Weymouth wrote, “I enjoy the music played on your station but your politics suck.”

Occupy 740!

Tiny in power perhaps!

Tuned in the other day and heard you mention that if you're heading up to Maine and lose
the 740 signal you can tune to 730 which goes up to Augusta or along the coast...

a "tiny tower" ???? 284' is tiny?

Hardly. For a 250 watt signal, 'JIB does quite well for itself. And the "5,000,000 butterfly sneezes" (aka 5 watts) at night is nothing to sneeze at (no pun intended, I assure you). It holds its' own in most of Downtown Boston (and then some!). Good to hear from you JIBGUY. Hope all is well! :)

Yes, all seems well. 6 days after semi-small heart attack (which happened while I was "under" from another procedure), I'm up and about ready to do RADIO! :) The good doctors in Maine took good care of me.

Best wishes, Bob!

Stay healthy, please.

Don't let me read tomorrow that you sold the station to Clear Channel ;)

BTW, I think 'JTO has been at reduced power/pattern (stuck on “Critical Hours”?) since at least Saturday morning (barely breaking through the noise floor and mostly under Chicopee’s weak co-channel), up here on the North Shore. ???

Your explanation doesn't wash. WJTO has no separate CH facilities.

those listener comments are hilarious

Sorry to hear about your heart attack, Bob. My dad just had a couple minor ones so I know how scary it is, but he's doing OK. Take care of yourself.

WJTO: has been broadcasting on 200 watts. I'm having a problem with the matching the transmitter with the tower all of a sudden. It all works though on 200w (daytime) on the Nautel back-up transmitter. I'm working on it, to get it back to the original flame-throwing 1000 watts.

Heart-attack... it happened while I was "under" for a common minor operation. Was under for 5 hours which includes the time I was transferred from Brunswick to Portland hospitals, and exploratory heart probes in Portland. Woke up 5 hours later, and my first groggy words were "What happened?"

Glad you're back up and around, Bob, and here's hoping you stay that way for several more decades. If we had lost you AND had to watch CC buy FNX at the same time, people on this board would be climbing your "tiny" tower and jumping off! ;)

Jibguy - how's it been going since WNBP started simulcasting on a station near you?
