I am too on Time Warner. I'll have to check the rabbit ears to see if 49 comes in.

Well, either TW flipped the switch, or they are back on the air for good(?) cuz ch. 49 is back on cable 19

Did a little searching, and found the reason why WJJA was off for so long :

<a target="_blank" href=http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/cdbsmenu.hts?context=25&appn=101072796&formid=910&fac_num=68545>http://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/prod/cdbs/forms/prod/cdbsmenu.hts?context=25&appn=101072796&formid=910&fac_num=68545</a>

Looks like they just had a run of bad luck

Good eye! Thanks for sharing your findings, techboywi. As much as I find WJJA's use of the airwaves to be something of a waste, I can't help but feel bad for Kinslow and company. That really was an unfortuante situation!

BTW, the picture quality (at least on cable) appears to have improved since Channel 49 (19) returned to the air. (It previously had this dim, less-than-colorful tint to it, compared to other channels.)

Sounds like they dont have much monitoring. If an AC goes down on a TV Transmitter usually someone gets notification. Also, if a transmitter gets into over heat mode, they usually shut down.

I bet it was a MESS!
