WJJD - Big D Country to be profiled in Radio World

Hey gang,

I thought I'd give you a head's up and let you know that WJJD - Big D Country is scheduled to be featured in an forthcoming edition of Radio World newspaper.

The RW author focused on my Internet streaming, most notably the fact that I am now attempting to create a weekday morning program, complete with traffic and weather, community information, and interaction via the station's Facebook page.

Best guess is that it will appear sometime in the next couple of months.

They've got some new photos to use - not sure which ones will get published.

Congratulations Alan. You came a long way and did a great job. It shows.

But could you please post a direct .pls/.m3u link to the WJJD audio? Here's my problem, you see I was on the Radio Terra stream site and there's the ad/video thing-I honestly don't know what it is-from Iman Cosmetics, Inc. that just pops up when you land on the Radio Terra site and reappears merely by scrolling your mouse over it. No click necessary.

It depicted Mrs. Bowie transforming the face of a pretty young woman into a hideous, Reptilian nightmare with her make up.

Did I also mention it reappears at will? Even over the WJJD audio stream?

Here's the direct stream feed:

The station was upgraded to PRO today. I'm running commercial free until Wednesday morning.
That means, no network ads on the Live365 feed. All the ads will be "ours."

And...You're right, Bongwater..it is, and has been, a lot of work!

Thanks for the kind words, CaptainFirst.

The Big D Country article is scheduled to be published in the May 18 edition of RW.

The station has evolved quite a bit since its earlier incarnations - first a carrier current signal that didn't even cover the farm we live on, to the present day station, which is primarily an Internet station.

Country is one format I never worked at in terrestrial radio, but I always wanted to. So I'm having a lot of fun and enjoying radio a lot these days.

Congratulations Allan. Nice to see you are still getting some publicity for your work in radio. If the article gets published online I'll try to link to it on my website.

That's because you work for Big D Country (yourself). ;D
Congratulations on the successes, Alan!

Congrats, Alan. I'm glad to see someone who took the lead to make a go of it. Having myself streamed online for almost 8 years before saying I had enough of the hemorrhaging wallet I can only imagine how much time and money you've invested.

Not yet, William, although I understand from the RW editor that it will be on the website soon.

I think William is referring to the text version of the story. Many times the text version often appeared around the same time the print/digital version goes live but sometimes the text version arrives a bit later.
