Hi everybody,
I haven't posted in a while as a lot of things have been happening in my family
but here's an update.
I've decided to sign WJJD 1160 off the air in Tallahassee in anticipation of a move to South Georgia. My parents, who own the property that I also live on, are
selling the Tallahassee property and are in the process of buying a larger place
(a farm) in Calvary, Georgia (just over the Florida line, actually.)
All of this may take six months or longer. Once we have actually moved, the plan is to:
1.) Sign WJJD back on - same frequency will work - with its classic country
format.
2.) Put back on the air the station that was known as "Resort Radio 1700"
that, as most of you know, I'm purchasing from Bill-B. This will have the
oldies format that Bill ran on it previously. It will be on 1700 AM as it was
before. 1700 is very clear in the new location, even at night.
3.) The internet stream that I have now, will continue on through all of this.
I've dubbed it "Memories Radio." It plays some of everything - mostly oldies, MOR, some standards, some country - Ultimately it will be a simulcast of the 1700 station.
I'll post updates of everything at my website, http:www.expage.com/radiomall,
including any anticipated major changes, such as sign-on dates, etc.
Calvary itself is a small farming community. I do not really plan to sell airtime there. I'm doing some non-radio marketing jobs to try to pay for all of this.
Thanks to all who have been so kind in your letters and emails!
