Hello There
I have been working and living out of town for little over a year now, and I had heard the news that Joseph J Gentile had recently had past away sometime last week or so.
I have a question. Now since Joe is no longer with us, I am curious to know who is going to take over the radio station. Is it going to be brought out by a different company? Or is it going to be the same old WJJG AM-1530 format?
Can someone please tell me what’s going to take place or be in charge of the operation?
I used to listen to WJJG when I was living here in Chicago, because WJJG would play lots of the old songs that weren’t played on any radio stations in Chicago.
And my favorite programs that I would always love listening to were:
>Mike Baker’s Forgotten 45’s show
>Reverend Johnny Dodd Morning Gospel Show
>John Devita’s Morning Rare Classics (station manager of WJJG)
>And - Ritchie “The C” Cunningham’s Sunday Afternoon Oldies Show a.k.a. “Nick”
As of now, WJJG was or probably still is one of the last independently own radio stations throughout the whole Chicagoland area.
Can someone please tell me what’s going to happen next with WJJG???
Thank you very much
Bob
