WJLP

I had been able to tune in WJLP on 33.1 (MeTV) and 33.2 (Justice) but for the last week, the channels simply vanished. Without rescanning, I just flipped through the channels to see if anything else was missing and found WJLP on 3.3 and 3.4. The station indicated they made no changes. My TV is an Insignia using an outdoor antenna. Any ideas on what could have happened? Thanks in advance.

It was actually a dispute over who had the right to which PSIP channel identification, which was only recently settled by the FCC. (I was one of those who filed remarks when this was open to public review and comment.)

The channel 33 ID was an interim move while the FCC decided the matter permanently. This document explains the dispute and the interim PSIP channel assignment:

My guess is that their PSIP gear temporarily stopped functioning.

Thanks Trip and KM for the responses. As I had mentioned in my original post, I did contact the station and they indicated that they made no changes. Looking again at the station, I noticed that just as mysteriously it moved from 33.1 and .2 to 3.3 and .4, it has now moved back to where it has been for months.

Since they still identify as '3' I can only assume that they hope to someday officially switch back to a PSIP of 3, however there has been no such mention of that as far as I can see in the last couple of weeks.

Thanks again
PS I wish that the station would add the Comet and Works networks.

Already decided, about six months ago. WJLP remains PSIP 33:

I still think the FCC should assign PSIP channel 37 in cases like these (that part of my comments was not quoted in the Declaratory Ruling).
