WJLQ-FM is now i100

WJLQ-FM (Pensacola/Mobile) is now the new i100, and taking on Mobile's 97.5 WABB for the hit music audience.

They're clearly going for both Mobile and P-cola listeners, if you caught any of their 'weather sounds' during their stunting period. The bulk of the discussion about 100.7 is already taking place on the North Florida board:

Any thoughts of the new station on the 'Bama side?

This awsome, as I stated in the North FL board! I hope they can do well. I can't imagine what WABB is thinking right now....."oh, we are screwed"....hahah. How long do you think they can start adding programs and getting dj's in? Yeah, it might take some time but I hope they can grab a decent mix show with a morning show....and then the 2,000 songs in a row!!!

Yep, I'll wait until the 2000 songs in a row are finished before I make my decision. They are still audible to the east of Montgomery about 50% of nights (when the gospel station in Cuthbert, GA isn't making inroads). However, the old Q 100 from days gone past was a decent battler after G 100 departed the scene. Good luck - and I suppose there will be a call letter change. (WIII is available). However, like WJDQ in Meridian, MS - someone will snap up those call letters quickly. Good luck Cumulus - fidget with the treble a bit and you've got it
