wjmk going back to oldies??

i was reading on-line on the sun times website about jack fm going down... and i know we have 94.7 a oldies station that i like... but i was thinking that if we get the old wjmk back... we will have greg, fred, and dick back and that will boost the ratings back and 94.7 will loose out. i mean most people like wjmk because of the DJ's and thats what people loved about it.... and who knows paul might even come back in the mornings.... any one else think this might happen? its going to be a year on june 3rd.......

I highly doubt that.

With them playing the same old 100 songs over and over again? You gotta be kidding!!!...

why?

if it was that great a format they'd have never dropped Oldies in the first place. Besides, at least for now they're on 94.7- until the new owners decide what to do with a perfectly good frequency.

The old 104.3 WJMK is still going strong on the HD-2 channel. This technology is growing bigtime. Heck the HD-2 channel may even show up in the ratings once it catches on.As for 94.7, I personally like their music selection WAY better then WJMK. The variety is huge.Only problem I have with 94.7 is the fact that the whole station is based around Scott Shannon's ego.

If I was programming 'ZZN, I'd get a local midday and evening jock. Shannon seems to be live in afternoon drive these days, so I'd leave that where it is. Run the satellite in overnights and weekends, but do more weekend specialty things like Scott MacKay's new Sunday 70s show (which has moved to noon as of this week). During local shows, stop using Shannon's sweeps and jingles and get a new set (as much as they want to avoid an 'LS connection, I'd still get JAM to resing the WLS '70 and Solid Rock (Rock of Chicago) packages and sing "94.7" where the call letters go--yes, using the 'LS logo melody. But what do I know? :)
