WJMK Liner takes the cake

Someone needs to take a look at the stopsets programmed into the box over there. Yesterday I heard a liner that said something like, "Proving we play less commercials than those OTHER stations...104-3 Jack-FM"

Instead of going into the music, they proceeded to play 6 or 7 commercials! Nice "proving" that Jack....LoL.

I have listened very little to any Chicagoland radio since Friday, but I did heard a liner that went something like this:

"If you owned your own station, you would program all of your favorite music. But you don't own a 100,000 watt radio station like Jack. Playing what we want. 104-3 Jack FM."

1/3 of a mile high is sweet. But, 4100 doesn't round up to 100,000.

Actually it was funny when yesterday they slammed right into a Jack Phelan Chevy ad...

"You gotta see Jack.... "

Makes us wonder which market Infinity borrowed that line from, since 100kw stations aren't authorized for Illinois.
Nine-FM's 3 signals combined is 71.8kw (WRZA 50kw, WKIE 1.8kw, WDEK 20kw)

Boo ya, go nine. Personally I think nines imaging has improved so much in the passed few months and still beats jack any day. That one drop "Give corporate radio the finger, the nine way. 92.7 nine fm" makes me smile every time.

These liners are also played on 101.1 FM here in New York, with our frequency dubbed in, of course.

So it'll be no surprise if you tell me there's also liners going into commercials that say:

"Experiencing a case of commercius interuptus..."
"Before you know it, Jack will be back..."
"Daddy needs a new pair of shoes..."

Oh, and is 'JMK also running that liner that goes "Playing what we want... and right now, we want to play a little X-Box?" THAT was creative, I'll give them that...<P ID="signature">______________

Jack in Jackson uses that same liner.

I heard the first two you listed, and I'm guessing the others are played on WJMK too. I haven't listened enough to find out...

I have heard that one.

Interesting--yesterday, they stopped playing the TM You Campaign jingles they'd been running, meaning there's now one cold segue in each half-hour. Since I never heard "104.3" or "Chicago" sung, I'm assuming that they used them without paying TM Century a license fee and TM wailed on them. (Smart move, since TM does all those custom packages for 'BBM-AM.)

All adds up to programming ham-fistedness, to me. Trying to be clever, and just coming out sounding like they're being programmed from some suburban office park far from Chicago, or New York. Which is exactly what is happening, I'm sure.

Way to go!!!

9 liner

Maybe its just me....but the 9 liner that says

we are taking the station commercial free right after we play some commercials also seems a bit retarded.
