DAMN. You have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!

What the hell am I going to do for oldies now?

Well, 92.5, 92.7, 99.9 will probably flip to oldies. Newsweb seems pretty oldies friendly considering how much they played on 850 and 820 during certain programming times.

And for sure WRLL is going nowhere now. They won the oldies battle out of nowhere.

Seems not to be stunting.

Oldies In Boston (infinity) is still cranking.

Voice dude is same as Jack Dallas.

Man, I heard this one earlier today and thought it was a friggin' joke! <P ID="signature">______________

This absolutely SUCKS!!!, I am so pissed as I am sure many others are too. This JACK format will burn out in less then 2 years. Also on a side note you can be sure that NINE FM will be flipping soon also. I bet they go all oldies or something similar to what oldies 104.3 was. I will miss Fred Winston and Dick Biondi they both are class acts!

ROTFLMAO! Whew! If this doesn't tell you those running radio have lost their mind, nothing will. WCKG? I guess it'll be Dahl all the time forever.

Kiss NINE goodbye. Maybe they'll do something normal like flip ala KTU and we'll have a ratings and billing winner on a suburban stick AGAIN.

Jack 104.3 Ha Ha Ha, killing me! Too funny. A 2.3 possible then timberrrrrr!

Re: OMG!!!!!!!!!

Biondi, Winston on NINE? With a new format? Never. Too high priced. Their salaries are the equivalent of what they bill in about a quarter.

At least I airchecked the overnight (12AM-5AM) shift a bunch within the last few months. Mostly because the format ruled.

I've been listening to WJMK for many many years. This station introduced me and brought me to love the oldies format. I never would have been the oldies fan I am now if it wasn't for those nights in 3rd grade when I would sit up all day night listening to Dick Biondi, Scott Miller, Pat O'Kelly, John Landecker, everybody. In 1996 The Monkees were back together making an album. As a HUGE Monkees fan I was always listening to WJMK. They were even at the concert. When I was 10, I personally met Dick Biondi and got his autograph. He was a nice guy and was interested in the fact that I had a love for radio. Now with WRIT in Milwaukee being pretty much all 70s, I was JUST turning back to WJMK because they still played all the songs I've come to know and love. YEARS and YEARS all thrown down the can. Luckally, I got well over 1000 oldies songs and a 10MW part 15 transmitter. So When I need to hear oldies on my radios while working around the house, walking down to McDonalds and everywhere else those songs will still fill my radio. I mowed the neighboors lawn and made 20 bucks. I'm headed right down to the store to buy a regulated power supply so I don't have to put up with the annoying hum noise in the background.

For those who can--94.3 FM out of South Bend is oldies--or was this morning at 3AM on my way to work. I didn't listen this afternoon on my way home. The good news is it is NOT owned by Infinity--the bad news most of the day it is sattelite. . . except AM & PM drives.

Actually, not ALL of their oldies outlets. 98.1 WOGL-FM in Philadelphia is still oldies. Probably won't be flipping to Jack since we already have 95.7 Ben-FM (owned by competitor Greater Media). But in this crazy business, who knows??

Click on this link... hopefully nothing changes --> Oldies 98, Philadelphia

I"m in shock like everyone else that WJMK was the one that flipped to Jack. I would have thought it would have been WCKG. I'm starting to believe that Infinity is commited to the FM talk format and will keep WCKG that format.
I only found out when I checked this board at 8pm. So far ok, but more than likely, I'll likely be continuing to listen to Nine FM. As for Nine FM, I don't see Nine flipping formats this quickly. If the station is making money, expect Nine to continue their variety station. I don't see this station flipping formats as quickly as BCR did with their class A stations. Nine FM may not have as good coverage of Chicago, but the 3 signals (92.5/92.7 (WKIE)/99.9) cover the suburbs much better than BCR's 2 92.7's and 92.5 did. If anything Nine might tweak before they do a all out format flip.

Re: OMG!!!!!!!!!

I mentioned that in another post. It has to be on Newsweb's mind now. With AAR's programming a possible 1 share looks better than a big zero.

Not all of Infinity's oldies stations have gone "Jack".....yet.

Here in Boston, WODS-103.3 is at this writing (11:05 P.M. EDT June 3rd) still broadcasting it's oldies format (they've been oldies since October, 1987). And according to Yes.net, WOGL-98.1 Philadelphia (also an Infinity-owned oldies station) is also still playing oldies. But other broadcasters in both cities have brought "Jack"-like formats to town--Entercom has "Mike" in Boston; Greater Media has "Ben" in Philly.

Ok, I gave it a chance, I listened tonight for an hour and wow that was dreadful! What a mess this is, I’m sorry, I know everyone seems to be getting on this bandwagon now, but I’m sorry I just don’t get it at all!! Trust me this new Jack fad is going to FAIL!! This is a complete insult to any ‘real’ radio programmers out there. We really don’t need another NINE!! Oh and btw, that imaging blows also. Somebody wake me up when this stupid fad is over ~YAWNzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
