WJNO dropping...

Trends show down nearly 50% since last summer in WPB. Why the harsh drop? Politalk remains steady in South Florida, with WIOD almost unchanged in both WPB and Miami-FtL even accounting for the three new talk listeners from WKAT's arrival.

What seems to be the trouble? Mornings... Beck... Rush? I thought the Randi-Schultz nighttime punch made some sense in this liberal market, and I suppose Hendrie isn't too bad late nights. Ideas?
 
Randi's ratings have continued to drop since she moved to New York, because she abandoned her South Florida audience. She never takes calls from Florida and she never takes calls from anyone that will creat a confrontation like she had when she ran in West Palm. That's why the rating are dropping

Randi's ratings have been up and down but for sure not what they used to be. I'm not so certain it's what you say as much as it is she has gone the one way road of Bush-bashing - and that's fine, but that's the only act she does these days. Give Rush credit, he at least will drop the Howard Dean bashing to at least have some fun from time to time. If Rush depended on just the far right to listen, he wouldn't have the the numbers he gets. He gets them because he's fun to listen to. And I could argue if he has experienced ratings slippage, it's because there are times HE takes himself way too seriously. Remember - no matter what the message, it's ENTERTAINMENT value that wins. You may begin to flame away...

You're right. Rush is interesting even when I strongly
disagree with him. When he goes too far out on his
religious right topics, then I may change the station.

I even enjoy listening to Fox's Alan Colmes, because
he's an intelligent, reasonable, non-Bush-hating liberal.
(Yes, some of them do exist, but you wouldn't know it
from the comments on this board.)

But Randi is a full-time Bush-Basher. And it's no fun
to listen to a hater.
