WJOX

Okay I admit I love hearing the "big boys" mess up. Out here in the unrated markets we get looked down upon quite often so it's nice when a 100kw Birmingham FM makes an obvious boo-boo.

Listening to WJOX-FM this afternoon/evening they were airing programming that appeared to be a recording of a station in Tallassee, AL. WTLS. I especially loved the commercials from all the businesses supporting Tallassee Tigers football and the promos about listening to the games Friday night. It stayed on for quite a while then I went into a restaurant. An hour later I came out to hear dead air.

I don't mean to ridicule anybody but it's nice to remember stuff like that whenever our small town status keeps us from sounding "big market."

Well I know what you mean Chris I remember listening to JoJo on Kiss in LA via the net.

I heard him say Hey Kiss FM then when we started the clip it said Hey Kiss FM.

O well even the super jocks have their days I guess.

O yes My favorite one was shepard Smith was doing a story on Jennifer Lopez and said giving her a Blow--- instead of a block party.

Hmm My own personal mess up probably starting with the wrong calls or forget to put the computer back in auto while I take a winners info.

Anyone else care to share ?

Other than dropping the f-bomb in Sept of 78, on a 100kw station....Hmm. Well I DID work for tragic broadcasting for a while. Cant decide which was the bigger screw up....

Keep it on the 1s and 2's Shady, and call a brotha once and a while!

Just a quick ammendment....Shepherd Smith was supposed to say "she was given a curb job".....she was dissed by someone, but I think we all know what he was thinking......

Also if you want to hear a truly momentus moment, check out All Access and loook for the news on the San Francisco jock that blasted Joe the Plumber.... and of course, did not know that the mike was on....Truly a radio jock cringe worthy moment......

Ive said the WRONG call letters and city of license when giving a legal id... I've lost my place when doing the weather and given the forecast for one day twice.

Not so much my fault, but when working at an Am station during a storm, I had the statiopn pop off the air 2 or 3 times in 15 minutes right in the middle of me talking...

Why is 'Jox simulcasting or airing programming from WTLS/Tallassee? Don't they have programming from both ESPN Radio AND Fox Sports to air?

Not to mention Tennessee Titans and Auburn Tigers football, as well as Westwood One sports. It's a real grab bag of sports programming. I have to say, though, that now that they are on 94.5 I am addicted to the Round Table.

for an example of how to screw up...check out the LA boards: "Ex KFI-er" story and related youtube link.

I remember a few years back, whenever our last ice storm, WTAK 106.1 didn't drop the feed for Johnboy and Billy after the show was over, and for half the day, 106.1 was just rebroadcasting 99.7 WRFX from Charlotte NC.

ahh Yes your right it was Curb Job sorry its been a few years. Well here is another one for ya after leaving KMX the first time I was at Island 106 broadcasting

live from LaVela. I was gonna say Island106 means todays best music. Instead I said 106 point and stop I was so embarrassed I pulled the mic down

and hit the next break.
