WJPJ (Humboldt, TN) Format Change

WJPJ 1190 in Humboldt, along with translator W260BA at 99.9, have flipped from Gospel/Christian to "Country Hits of the 90's". The change occurred several weeks ago. The stations are owned by Grace Broadcasting, who had programmed with Gospel/Christian for about 2 1/2 years. Before that, Palmer Johnson had the stations for several years with "Classic Hits Radio". WJPJ 1190 is 420 watts daytime only, and the FM translator is 250 watts.

From their Facebook page: "Our music format will now feature the Country Hits of the 90's. We will continue to cover local news, church, and community events with our Community Focus Show each weekday at Noon. We will also continue to bring you live broadcasts of the Humboldt City & School Board Meetings. You will still hear Love Worth Finding each weekday at 9:30am and First United Methodist Church on Tuesday's at 4:00pm. Also, Sunday mornings will feature your Southern Gospel Favorites. We look forward to great things ahead."

At least an attempt is being made to keep this station on and with some local programming, unlike Humboldt's other AM station that is still licensed, but hasn't been on in two or three years.
