WJQS changes format

I had a hunch that the business talk format wouldn't last any more than six months and my hunch was right. Now, they're nostalgic, running the "Music Of Your Life" service.

Heard them on the way to work this morning around 6:30. The music sounds quite good. Nice warm audio. Actually enjoyed it. For some reason old music can sometimes sound shrill when played on FM. It must have something about he way they are over processing FM these days. I hope Music of Your Life lasts. But I don't see it. Most of their audience now lives in the suburbs and WJQS is only 1000 watts and starts turning into static city when your over 10 miles out. Night reception is almost impossible. Can barely make it past Pearl at night. I hope it last at least until Christmas. Standards stations play the best Christmas music. More traditional stuff, and non of those bad pop versions. I never want to hear Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston catterwaul my favorite carols ever again. And I wish someone would have shot George Michael before he recorded "Last Christmas" Same goes for "Step into Christmas" by Elton John. Yuck. Ok thats enough of my rant. sorry

BTW. WPBQ is still off the air. But now WIIN 780 is off too. I kind of like the "Gods Country" format. Are they doing their yearly format change?

I think that this new format for the station is great! I have already joined the online website for the Music of Your Life.

I have followed this format from 1180 to 1490 to 93.9-FM to 780 and now to 1400.
