WJVH/BELFAST, ME

Just for information purposes & radio geeks, LIGHT OF LIFE MINISTRIES, INC. is donating the construction permit for the new noncommercial FM WJVH/BELFAST, ME to WORD RADIO EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION.It will be on 91.5 & 50kw @ 86 meters.

It's going to have to be pretty directional to protect next door neighbors WMEW 91.3 Waterville, and a new CP for Ellsowrth on 91.7.

I'm the station engineer for Light of Life/Worship Radio Network that's been working on trying to get a workable site for our WJVH Belfast station. The tower we're listed as being on is full, and there's really no other place we can go. Donating the station to Word Radio (WSEW/WWPC) was a last-ditch effort to buy time to build the station. Sadly, it doesn't appear that the FCC will grant the request, and so we'll likely have a class B CP expire with nothing to show for it.

For what it's worth, the adjacent channel WRNM Ellsworth CP is also ours, and will be built within the next year. Protecting WMEW Waterville is the tough part, as it required using a highly directional antenna in conjunction with being in the shadow of some hills. With restrictions on putting up new towers in the area, and not being able to be on our listed CP tower, we have nowhere to go.
