WJYE, BUFFALO:
(day part)
as much as I *(didnt*) like it,
i prefer the soft-spoken computer voice
(microsoft samantha) reading the artist/song...
(listening to WJYE in a dr's office), i was *forced* to
listen for a few segments, and it is brilliant !
why?
-instant info.
-saves time. (on-air talent can logically/quickly move his break forward, into some thing topical,
station related, or some thing like the weather/talk about last night's award show, etc).
-no need for the back sell, each song is ID'-ed, and moves on.
(back-sell has its +/- good points and bad points too)
+ finds out what song you missed/or if you missed the title-or artist.of a certain song
- some times, you catch the song set, at song one, and either cant wait 15min's,
(called into the dr's office), or just can't sit thru song after song, wanting to know the
title of the one you are interested in....... well,
-with that 'device'(for a lack of better term) is extremely effective!
Could be updated, sure - maybe sound like the on-air talent,
but for now, not the worst thing on the aire...
[i hope this was clear, as many of you know, the
(-)difficulties i have w/ the written word, as a form of communication].
