WJZI to become WLDB

This week, it looks like the WJZI-WJZX confusion will finally end, as JZI relents and changes their call letters to WLDB. Not sure what that means, but they'll call themselves "B93.3". Music and whatever else stays the same.

The station's new slogan: "the all-new B93.3 - soft rock . . . less talk." Not sure how this differs from WEZY's "Lite Rock" slogan. I think they should call themselves "The Killer B" like B96 in Chicago, but that probably wouldn't go over well with the Phil Collins/Elton John crowd.

I am glad the confusion is over. Plus, the "smooth" tag line is gone, which was even more confusing. I just don't understand why they didn't do this all from the beginning, but first they dropped the word "jazz." Then, a few months later, they finally go into a format like change with a new voice/over talent and no jocks for a week. But, they keep there same slogan and calls. Finally, thanks to 106.9, this ooks like a complete format change. I've gotta wonder what they would have done had it not been for 106.9?
