Does anybody remember when they were briefly Top 40 and who was on the air?

It seems that WKBN has dropped or moved Michael Savage from the 6pm to 9pm slot. Now that AM station's don't have to power down and/or change pattern until after 7pm (sundown), I haven't caught him in that timeslot. That's too bad, since he's on live from 6-9pm EDT/EST. So, if you want "The Savage Nation" live, tune in to WWVA 1170 AM at 6:00pm. That station comes in fairly good until sundown (at least in the Western suburbs of Clevelands), and less so afterwards, but it can still can listenable.

WKBN is now airing a Rush replay from 7p-9p, followed by a tape-delayed Phil Hendrie from 9p-11p (he's live 1a-4a) and WABC's John Batchelor from 11p-1a. Even though this was probably done to accommodate Indians and Cavs games pre-emptions, this is one of the more peculiar schedules I've seen in a while.

For the record, WWVA does cut out from Savage's show at 8pm to air legacy dollar-a-hollar preachers and the like until 1am.

WKBN AM was one of milke joseph's first customers...( he is from Campbell right up the hill)

the station flipped from Top 40 when the owners got lots...LOTS of flack at the Youngstown Country Club.

my information is it was a good biller but the owners didn't want to deal with the "heat"

legend has it that the founder actually came into the studio and lifted the tone arm off a turntable, one time, when he heard a particlular song he didn't like.

and the rest...as they say.......is history...
