Re: Anyone care to make it interesting?
I also enjoyed listening to KB at night with that booming signal. But let's face it, the format does not make money. We are lucky they gave it as long as they did.
WAMS is mostly using the same ABC channel used by WNRK, at least during am and pm drive. The format, according to one station paid for survey, had VERY few listeners. But it is now being used more wisely. The liners are better. They are making the listeners think the $1,000 a day give away is live and local - not a national contest. The computer operator is doing a great job - no more jingles running during the middle of commercials. The childish image elements are gone. The network now seems to realize they are playing 60's and 70's music for 50 year olds, not 13 year olds. The live/local am drive that WNRK had was good, but the network was an embarasment. Now it sounds much professional. But if a 50kw heritage station can't make it, a flea power station in a university town stands little chance.
