It appears that 1120 WKCE has signed on a translator at 98.3. While I'm glad they are trying to have an FM presence, this is the wrong frequency. It collides with WMTY Sweetwater so that all over Knoxville, neither station is listenable now. What a mess.
The translator has been off the air most of this week. 1340's translator on 101.5 signed on today; if you're driving it mostly gets blown away by WQUT
I noted it off late last night and this morning. It was strong if you were stationary, but driving it kept picket-fencing with WQUT in South Knoxville. I'm not so sure it's such a great idea to locate on the frequency that has a higt powered station that you can hear in a lot of the market, even if on paper the FCC says you can.
