WKCR 89.9 Now Broadcasting in HD

I don't know when the jazz/classical/Americana music station flipped the switch, but just noticed that they are now on in HD. Their HD2 is apparently devoted to classical music.
As the area already has WQXR and WSHU for that genre, I believe it would make sense for the HD2 to be used for something else, such as public radio's Folk Alley service.
As is typical for the much ignored technology, I cannot find any mention on WKCR's website about this development.

A bit more info. about the HD2.
It is a simulcast of WWFM, out of Mercer County Community College in Trenton NJ. Their programming is called The Classical Network. They have a bunch of translators, located as far away as Colorado.

A potential 20 million listeners according to the article? How about a potential 20 listeners, and that's being generous. Why would someone in NYC or Philly buy an HD radio to hear WWFM drop in and out on an HD2 when they can hear WQXR or WRTI? WWFM's made the wrong decision if they claim to have gone HD for survival. They should have spent that money marketing their Internet stream in NYC and Philly instead, since they would get more listeners that way, and their stream can sound better than even the main analog FM station. I'd rather have WWFM programmed by the students of Mercer County College.
