Panama City WKGC DROPS NPR

was going to listen to All Things Considered this afternoon on my way back from Tallahassee and tuned to 90.7 WKGC since I was closer to Panama City (my home) and they were playing a mish mash of hard rock....called someone I knew to find out why and was told they had to drop NPR due to state and federal funding cuts....I agree with most of what Trump and Desantos are doing but the zeroing out funding for local stations was a bad idea in my opinion.....

The good news for you is that the town's other NPR outlet, WFSW, 89.1 FM, is still carrying a full complement of NPR news programs, including "All Things Considered."

Wow. It seems like you would would be kept in the loop about major events at WKGC.

Searching the WKGC Facebook page it looks like they took NPR out of their logo the last week of September. It made the News-Herald on September 30.

Their station history page doesn’t even mention NPR.
