WKHZ 1590AM Flips Format and adds 105.1 FM

So according to the FCC website, WKHZ 1590AM, is being sold to Epcot Broadcasting and WXXY is selling repeater 105.1FM, to Epcot Broadcasting as well. Put 2 and 2 together and you have what they are calling the all-new “WAMS 80’s Channel”. Sounds pretty good so far. I LOVE 80'S MUSIC! ;D

Wow! Was in OC today and 1590 sounds super!! Love the 80's mix.

Just listened to WYRE, WEMD and KHZ is still on both stations.

It does sound good..I think this is where KHZ Network should have went. The sound is hot, classic sounding jingles and good talent! It is also nicely compressed!

I agree! :) The FM sounds very good. I wonder what the processing is. As for the AM it sound like FM very clean sound.

Man I have missed all theses great songs from the 80's! I use to enjoy them on 101.7 with Jeff & Karen, but since they left there has been a hole for 80's music. Thanks to the folks at The 80's Channel for bringing them back to OC! ;D

Last time I drove on Rt.90, one of WKHZ's towers (Maybe AT LEAST one) was on the ground. Bill Paris once told me that when he sold it, the new owner would get "a clean license." I wonder what eventually happened with that? Does anybody know what their ERP/directional configuration is now?

Are y'all sharing the same apartment in OC? Haven't seen such self-promotion of a bottom-end radio outfit in years on radio-info. Or did one of you just figure out how to skirt the "one account per-person" rule?

Slapping eighties tunes and syndicated crap on a carrier rarely makes radio geeks orgasmic. So many stations now are just iPods attached to an antenna. No budget, no humans, no audience. Welcome to 2012.

But, hey, if you're already at the beach, maybe you can get a real job selling taffy or them damn french fries. Love them fries!
