WKIP Is Simulcasting Cool 92.9

I was listening to the "Solid Gold Jukebox" with Rick McCaffery along with Gary Lee Schwartz on Cool 92.9 that the station is now being simulcast on WKIP 1450 AM. :eek: What's the big deal here? Is WKIP should be flipping to a simulcast of WBPM to bring listeners to hear oldies on AM? I don't know what to tell.
 
I am about to break a personal rule against responding to a Disney post. I hope I don’t regret it.
1450 WKIP is the only AM station to even show up on the Poughkeepsie Market ratings. Although the demographics aren’t great, I doubt they would make a change unless perhaps the sale of WBPM was about to go through to Pamela and oldies on 92.9 was about to go away with it. They would sure PO a lot of grannies by doing this. Although I didn’t hear this alleged simulcast my guess is WKIP had a technical glitch with the satellite reception they get the standards from and had to throw something on WKIP to keep it on the air, so they put the closest thing local Rick McCaffery This would no be the first time a local station has done something similar. They are back to normal now, which BTW is simulcast with 1370 WELG Ellenville.
