WKLB: Freq change will be at High Noon (12/1)

Aircheckers alert! via WKLB VIP club. 12/1 we already knew; now we know it's at noon.

>> I wanted you to hear the news directly from us here at WKLB. Remember, the time and date for this change is FRIDAY DECEMBER 1ST AT NOON! We’ll be talking about this change quite a bit on the air, but I wanted you to be among the first to know the particulars!

(Suggested first song for WCRB at their new freq.: WILLIAM TELL OVERTURE aka LONE RANGER THEME!

Ooops...the WILLIAM Tell Overture is not a song; it's not widely realized that "classical" composers did in fact write songs, and many of them are well known and popular: Schubert's "The Trout" and "Srenade"; Beethoven's "To My Far-away Beloved"; Tchaikovsky "None But the Lonely Heart" for example. But WCRB even after the switchover undoubtedly will continue to refrain from broadcasting ANY vocal music. Now as 99.5 is FM channel 258...their first impulse may be to play Mozart's Koechel number K258, but that's a vocal piece (a Mass in C-major), and they can't play Bach's Cantata BWV 258 because that too is vocal. The ideal solution would be Domenico Scarlatti's harpsichord Sonata Kirkpatrick number 258.

<<Well the part of the overture that was used as the Lone Ranger theme at least...As far as I know it isn't
a vocal tune anyway>>

With a vivid imagination it *could* be a vocal. It would go something like.........
....."To the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump, dump". :D

I know a version that the moderators would not like seeing printed here!

Do you think someone would be able to capture the very moment of this format change, and upload it? I remember they did it with WAAF on 97.7 back in August.

I captured the WAAF change and sent it to airchexx.com I believe. I will do the same for this flip, in both
cases (WKLB>>WCRB, WCRB>>WKLB freqs). Stay tuned right here.
