WKLB freq switch not till after Aug 19?

We're still waiting to hear the official word about WKLB moving to 102.5, with Nassau buying 99.5 and
the WCRB intellectual property (with the hope the FCC could award them those calls as well). I wonder if it won't be till after August 19...the WKLB site mentions their involvement in a country music festival at the Tweeter Center on that date. They'd probably wait till after then to do the switch...so they won't have to reprint banners with the Country 99.5 logo, etc. (they'd have to do it eventually though).

And imagine this: At the Aug 19 concert, a WKLB DJ gets up on stage and announces "We're moving to a better signal! Tune in to Country 102.5 starting on (date)!"

Who knows.

From what I've been hearing on the station, the concert is a big deal to the station. Perhaps GM could arrange it so that the flip could take place live at the concert, sort of like a reverse-"DREfest".

Who knows.

You can say that again. In May, Emmis announced that they would sell their remaining Phoenix station to Bonneville; the sale closed yesterday. Greater Media announced their intent to acquire WCRB nearly 8 months ago. What are Nassau, Greater Media, and Charles River waiting for?

Does anybody know if WCRB's license has been renewed yet? That could be the impediment.
