Beasley Media Group announces the following staff promotions at Country 102.5 (WKLB-FM) in Boston:

Dawn Santolucito has been promoted to the position of Assistant Program Director and Marketing Director at the station. She has been serving as Music Director and Marketing Director at the station since August 2017. She has been with the station for the past 10 years.



“I would like to thank the Beasley’s, Justin Chase, Cadillac Jack and Mary Menna for this great opportunity,” said Santolucito. “Country 102.5 is a special station, near and dear to my heart. I am excited to take on this new role, and I am looking forward to all the things our incredible team will accomplish together.”

It seemed odd when iHeart canned Clerkin. The guy was the music director of a station that was crushing it in the ratings and was the producer of the Matty Show. There have been several head scratching decisions at Kiss and Jamn over the last 5-6 years. Nice job by iHeart on Jamn also. It went from a ratings powerhouse to a total joke (oh I know, it’s killing it with the younger demos, just down in the “beauty queen” numbers, there is no value to advertisers in a large total audience.)

I stand corrected. However, he just left without a job lined up and then nine months later landed another job? Seems fishy.

This was around the time when iHeart made the brilliant move of letting Jamn’s entire morning show move to their competition and the station has never recovered. There was an exodus of talent around this time either by choice or by firing, and “choice” was likely because talented radio people were miserable in their jobs because of management.
