WKLG 102.1

Hi

Is this station (or better-worded, occupant of one FM frequency) necessary?

For the last 3 weeks or so, only dead air....the *least* they could do is to let us DXers have our fun for the last 3 weeks of the e-skip season.

They *did* add some more recent songs before they went dead-air (before that, they seemed to have had the same 1989-centric playlist for the last few years).

I think they only have one sponsor, outside of a promo for their company!

Why are they hanging on to their license? It's like a legal pirate!

CD, what have you been able to pick up on 102.1 since WKLG became dead air? I always liked to DX WKLG from southern Palm Beach and/or northern Broward. It is an easy catch on South Beach as well.

All I have this year is the Edge 102.1 Dallas*, Magic 102 Houston & I think the one in Lima OH.

[*The Edge in Toronto 102.1 exists, but the website given = Dallas.]

See if they are running an SCA.
Maybe they are making money that way.

If they *were* running SCA, it's probably a contract with Physician's Radio Network. ::) (A little dated humor there.)

To be fair, I do remember about 2 years ago they were running Spanish language radio for a few hours a day ("Estrella 102" I think---as if it were a brokered thing). It did not last very long.

BTW...running an SCA without something, anything, on the main channel is not quite what the commission has in mind when subject of the proper operation of a station comes up!

Gee, well this thread shows to go ya....

I was expecting to read things like "Yeah, where's my WKLG?!?!" (outside of Scott's post, which I will count as a fan post)

Or not.
