Why only 29 hits on this thread in 1 and a half years. Isn't Russ the hottest thing to hit Indy Radio
since the Indianapolis 500?

This particular post hasn't been posted for one and a half years. There have been many, many posts about WKLU over the last couple of years...most of them positive since the old days of when they broadcast from Brownsburg.

Sirius is only $12 a month and I can listen to whatever I want with no commercials and no idiot DJs. Soon, all radio will be satellite and then where will you be? At home watching the 5 broadcast t.v. stations you can get without cable?

Don't knock Sirius and XM until you try it. Radio in Indy is a vast wasteland of crap

WI-FI "radio" is coming. That's when satellite radio will head the way of whale oil lamps. Why pay for sat when one will be able to hear a huge variety absolutely free thanks to WI-FI technology? Listen to more music by Steppenwolf, dawg.

Indianapolis has a history of great radio. I don't appreciate this or know where he is coming from.
Good old FM is hanging in there just fine.

Anyone can come up with an Ultimate Top 10 - anyone can come up with a good One Hour of "best music" - but do it 24/7 for years and see how creative YOU are when it comes to music selection - much less have to pay bills based on the income you bring in based on the number of people listening to YOUR FAVORITE MUSIC!

So to complain about local radio being CRAP? -- what could you do to make the PERFECT station? that NO ONE would get bored of over time... not possible.

Favorite Music? I play what my boss tells me and pays me to play. That's my job.
So, Radioho, are you playing your favorite music?
My favorite music is on my mp3 player. There isn't much radio that aims at a
25 year old with a college education. Don't you know?

why did mark clark leave wklu and who is the gm now?

I like the fact that WKLU plays fewer commercials. But let's face it, we all know they are straight out lying when they say they play 3000 songs or whatever insane number they claim to have now adays. They play the exact same music as the Jack and the Track and the Q. Just more of it. Which is fine and Im sure many appreciate it. But don't act as though you are saving the industry.

Their promos are incredibly stupid. Also, their air personalities absolutely stink. They got rid of Ritz and apparently Jay Baker is now off nights. Listen to each jock during the day. They all read the exact same liners. So it appears as though Oasis doesn't want anything other than people that can read to same promos over and over and over. If thats "great radio" then count me as a full time cd listener.

It's true that you don't really hear anything new, exciting and creative with this station. Promos and liners are unimaginative and poorly written. And the air talent is just as you say, "liner card readers". "Call Russ now, he answers his own phone." Big deal - so do I.

Being a dope-smoking hippie might have been the "in thing" in the early days of FM radio - but to have someone like that in this day and age running your station ???? Tie-dye went out like, what, 20 years ago, then again last year -

The answer to Russ's problem - bring back "Tie-dye Tuesday" or whatever stupid promo that was.

pass the pipe!

I just wish once someone other than Jay Baker (and I guess that won't be happening anymore) would say something funny. Granted it seemed Jay was very limited to what they would let him do, but the guy still had some great lines. But for the rest: Something origional please! Anything! Other than asking me to listen 1000000 extra minutes a day. It's tragic. Their disc jockeys actually encourage me not to listen. I would probably tune in a lot more and put up with their absurd promos if I never had to hear any of them ever open their mouths. It's sad. You would think a guy so obsessed with "great radio" would hire some at least average air talent?

Gee...maybe if they brought Robbie Kendall back the criticism on this board would stop.
