WKLU

I just wish once someone other than Jay Baker (and I guess that won't be happening anymore) would say something funny. Granted it seemed Jay was very limited to what they would let him do, but the guy still had some great lines. But for the rest: Something origional please! Anything! Other than asking me to listen 1000000 extra minutes a day. It's tragic. Their disc jockeys actually encourage me not to listen. I would probably tune in a lot more and put up with their absurd promos if I never had to hear any of them ever open their mouths. It's sad. You would think a guy so obsessed with "great radio" would hire some at least average air talent?

Isn't Kendall still there? I'm guessing wannabe included kendall in this statement - "Their disc jockeys actually encourage me not to listen."

Nothing kills a non-productive hate-filled thread faster than a disgruntled ex-employee almost being outed :D

I'm listening...they have a soldier from Brownsburg doing his 10 favorite songs from Iraq - very cool!!!

It's obvious MAIL CALL isn't a KLU employee! ;)

Fans come on here all the time to "RAH RAH" their favorite station - riiiiggghhhhtttt!

Seriously, ANYONE who touts a station on here is obviously an employee -- some are just better at hiding it than others!

When it's your first post - it's a little obvious also.

WKLU, 101.9 - Two years ago...22nd Today...Top 5
That's pretty impressive!!!

With what used to be on that station, just about anybody could have made that frequency perform better in the ratings.

Why hide something you're extremely proud of and having so much fun doing?

nothing, but why did you first refer to YOURSELF as THEY? Glad you're pleased with your hokey Top 10 - usually a very lame segment. the only redeeming thing about it to this point is the fact you recognized our soldiers.

But how many more times is FREEBIRD going to make that Top 10 - gesssh - way to differentiate yourselves from the Q!

Higher ratings. What changes did you make to get them? You took off Hendricks County High
School sports. You took off the County Fair. You took off the Hendricks County Festivals.
You took away the DJs freedom to play what they wanted to play and say what they wanted
to say. You played the typical corporate game. Of course your ratings went up. That's easy.

If Bruce Quinn had been blessed with your eighty million to play radio, maybe he could have
played the ratings game too.

I am sick and tired of Ruus making statements on this board under different aliases that are not true.

Maybe I can't count but this doesn't look like number 5. Here's what is released publicly http://www.radioandrecords.com/RRRa...U=CM&BPER=14.1&HPER=&OPER=&NSD=3/12/2007&CE=0

What? Someones caught with his pants on fire?
How are Bruce Quinn and Russ Oasis just alike? Both of them made their millions selling radio
stations, not running them.

well, if you take men - age 45-48, no life, pot belly, smoker, VERY close to a mullet haircut (thining of course), levi's just a "little" too tight with the gut hanging over, and shirt unbuttoned halfway to show the graying chest hair - WKLU IS NO. 1!

Self-proclaimed successful station owners shouldn't have to promote a show on this thread....unless the arrogant one needs higher ratings which we all know have a hefty price. What a shame to buy a station appraised at 10 million by the Indy Star will NEVER break even due to poor money management. Purchase price 6 million plus for the frequency, 1-2 million for new building, new tower site additional costs, higher overhead, including salaries, promotions (other then this thread), and a building full of disgruntled employees which causes healthcare costs to rise, also a revolving door in management. What does all this equal? Simple math you can't break even with such costs. Also a man who is not only extremely disliked by the staff, but a man that will pray for the day he can sell the turkey for what he has in it. OUCH! And they said the Quinn family ran their station at a loss. Right! Don't throw stones when you live in a glass radio station Russ!

Why do you WKLU haters devote all this energy to a station that you seem to despise ??? I don't like country music, but I wouldn't start a thread spouting that WFMS sucks. I just wouldn't listen to the station. Howard Stern and Bob and Tom have become boring porodies of themselves. But what should I care?? I just don't listen to them. If you don't like the station just turn the dial. You won't be missed ;D

Redduck, They work for FBQ or Jack. They are embarrassed because a little class A from Brownsburg is eating their lunch. They refer to 12+ ratings, but who looks at those? 25-54 WKLU is #4 in the market. In fact, without Bob and Tom in the mix (in other words from 10AM to Midnight) WKLU is less than 10% behind FBQ / 25-54 and is killing Jack. All of the speculation regarding KLU's expenses, is just that....speculation. I say the authors are pissed and amazed that WKLU is making money playing just 6 commercials an hour. It spotlights how much money their own greedy owners are making (playing 24 spots an hour) and it also pisses them off that their owners are so cheap toward them (voice tracking, etc). Let them talk. The only station in Indy that does it the quality way is WKLU and the ratings prove it. The ratings are the bottom line and anyone who says otherwise is a moron. Who wants to own or work at a station that has crappy ratings...oh yea..the guys who write anti WKLU diatribes (go look it up radioho).
