WKMC WFBG WRTA

For the first time WKMC is ahead of WFBG in Altoona.

The funny thing is that WFBG switched to talk to take away from WRTA. Instead it left a hole in the market, WKMC switched back to Adult Standards (same morning that WFBG switched away from Adult Standards), and after a few books, WKMC beats WFBG.

WRTA remains untouched by WFBG.

Also note that Barger put in a new processor out at WKMC, new automation computer, new voice/imaging, etc.

And, don't forget--WFBG is not the flagship of the Altoona Curve anymore.

Losing the Curve didn't seem to make much difference. WFBG actually came up a little from spring 2004 to spring 2005.

They aren't serious about competing with WRTA. They have no local element on WFBG at all. Somebody told me that when WFBG went to news/talk, they tried to hire Charlie and Steve from RTA but couldn't make a deal. They put Quinn and Rose on after that. I think they have some good programming on there, but they haven't gotten behind it at all.
