You guys need more to do. Dothan, AL is full of angry, hateful people. I've never seen a board full of venom like this one. It's not even worth trying to reason with anyone, because you don't use any kind of factual information to back up your arguments.

My issue was when you were attacking Tom DiBacco and Kim Styles and blaming them for changes that happened after they left or didn't make the decision.

And then people saying what happened a year ago in Panama City doesn't matter now. Well, it matters when you are talking about them - because they were running those stations back then and they are successful.

They were also behind the growth of WTVY from 9th place to 1st place.

And, no WTVY was not No. 1 with African Americans. What we mean by "every demo" is 18-34, 18-49, and 25-54 adults. The main demos that advertisers buy.

I think there are some really talented people in Dothan from Amie Pollard & Ken Carlisle to B.J. Kelli to John Houston.

My only point was that the Styles Media management (Styles and DiBacco) ran a good, family run operation.


SAY WHAT? That must be some serious crack you smokin', either that or one to many of their rubber checks must have bounced and hit you HARD in the head. Nothin' about those two was ever family oriented, not even their marriage. Hell, I would know from first hand experience.

on their asses where they belong. Hey Jim/Tom come out from under the couch. Broadcasters? Family operation? What a big hog chokin' joke. Those two and their whinny lap dog Amie at TVY deserve
everything they're gonna get. All Amie can do is steal ideas from more talented folks and deliver a
pitiful product to an older audience. I gaurantee she can't tell you how she hooked the numbers or
what she's gonna do next. Truth be told her listeners are laughing the tails off at her and not with
her. She's a fat disgrace to Dothan broadcasting and even long time credible jocks from this market
can't explain the appeal. She makes this market sound so friggin' redneck it's pathetic. Poor KC.

and stuffed their pockets on the backs of some talented people who made the difference in
PC. And in Dothan?......Let's trade out everything in the county at two for one. Not even

Finally someone that sees the points about Magic Broadcasting . I'm sure there are more on here that are just afraid to post.
We're just stating the "Truth" about Magic. It hurts doesn't it ?
I hear that Kelley was supposed to do the 80 mile walk originally but Amie went and cried and said oh no I can't have someone steal the spot light from me so I will join her.Come on Amie be original. :-*

Hey Hot Pockets......just wondering if the volcano you mentioned has anything to do with the Radio People corporate attorneys working as we speak on a way to get Mrs. Pollard out of her non-compete? If so, that makes it a double volcano. Looks like more heads will be rolling at 96.9 soon. I sincerely doubt thay're planning on having a two woman morning show. And I doubt that Mrs. Pollard is interested in working on a 25kw Classic Country station (105.3), either. There's a never a dull moment in D-town.

Ok, We have to come clean and take full responsibility for creating the monster you all know as "Amie". When Jerome & Connor left 95 a couple years ago, Amie was only supposed to fill in until David Sommers "Non Compete" was fulfulled. Well most of us know what happened with that and that's when the Legend of Amie began. I'm just as puzzled as anyone why the show is so popular especially when everyone and I mean everyone that I've talked to in or out of the business, can't stand to listen to her. They all love KC and in my pinion is one of the funniest and talented jocks in the market. And I'm not so sure that it's not KC whose really the big draw here, not Amie. But you know, she sounds like Dothan and appeals to those that relate to her and obviously there are a lot of them. So on behalf of Connor, for those that can't stand Amie....

They are plenty of radio stations that bust thier butts for charity by doing PSA's, Remotes ,Etc.Etc . And they don't do it for glory they talk about it and get off the air . It's obivious when you turn in the Newspaper when you see "Vote us The Best" We raised x number of dollars for this charity which tells you the real reason why the oney was raised it was to get a pat on the back . Now you didn't see any other radio stations doing that in there did you . Nope Just TVY

Sounds to me like all of you are jealous because Pollard & KC came in and turned the market around and kicked butt. Why not give Amie and KC credit for doing a great job and really bonding with their listeners? Did one notice that WTVY's rise came at a similar time to WKMX's slide?

The music cycle has done great for Country in that market. For years, WTVY was a bad Country station - and WKMX shared a lot of audience with WDJR. Once WTVY got better, listeners had another choice (which now is their No. 1 choice) and WKMX lost cume.

I'm sure WKMX will bounce back in the future - but the market has changed.

Maybe WTVY is No. 1 because it is a GREAT radio station with a GREAT morning show in Pollard & KC. All anyone can do is attack Amie. You can say anything you want about her - but she is No. 1. Arbitron is like scoreboard in sports. Whine all you want, ratings are the way people are judged. When one of you gets to No. 1 - then go ahead and spew. Until then, you should not say anything at all.

WDJR will prevail in this coming up book with all it's changes that's in store.WVVL will take some of those numbers as well from WTVY also
WKMX will not bounce back and compete as much with the big stations such as WTVY ,WDJR AND WOOF.
WKMX lost cume because it tried to compete with WOOF during the day and did something totally opposite at night like it is now .
I'm sorry a station cannot play Chicago Hard to say I'm Sorry 9-5 then play The ***** Cat Dolls My Humps at night . It doesn't work which got proven with the numbers for KMX hence the reason for the flip.
Even though I'm not at WOOF I don't agree with the programming at times but it is still a very profitable,Stable Consistant Station and Dominates during Office hours the numbers show it .

Her non-compete has already been determined to be moot. I believe KC's is the impasse.

But I think if Mrs. P makes the jump, they won't do the Classic Country on 105.3
No need. And it's also a risky move.
But if they do.....maybe Jerome & Misty on Classic Country Mornings?

The "AMIE" format will only work in Dothan. We all know how different it is here compared to even Montgomery or Panama City. Even though the city and county are growing by leaps and bounds I think it will always have that down home feel to it. That's why country is king. When Connor and I were working on "Real Country" 1039, we were gaining ground on TVY. When Dibacco bought the station we came off the satellite and with just our live morning show and no jocks, beat TVY in the last book before to format change. We were then moved to TVY doing the same thing we were doing on 1039. It was a constant back and forth with Tom about the music. He knew country about as much as I know build a rocket!
But in the end they started programming pretty much the same music that I was doing for TVY back in '99 and '00 which Tom didn't think would work. Now look at them. The only difference today is they don't have to deal with Charles Woods. Now that's an experience I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. They're on a roll and I wish them the best, but as we all know it runs in cycles and eventually if DJR can keep it together, they'll be back. It's gonna be tough though.
