WKMX Jocks/Magic Broadcasting

Hog call. Now thats funny.

I can't resist debating here. Is there pill that will fix it?

I have been a PD/morning guy who went in and did weather with another person on their shift. I have also been a mid day guy, a part time guy and a night guy and had the PD and or morning person come in and do weather with me.

I never felt like I was slighting anyone, nor did I ever feel slighted.

In the age of many studios, not many people, you are going to need help with really severe weather if you are also going to assist the other stations with getting it on the air.

I always found it a great help to have someone help me with really severe weather situations.

But then again, I don't really have a big ego.

First of all I would like to appoligize for drawing the comparison
between Tom and Kim and Jim and Tammy Faye Baker. That
was silly and I do sincerily regret the comment.

Jim and Tammy Faye deserved better. Please forgive me.

No question about it. Classic Country is coming to 105.3. Apparently TRP think that a flanker station is the key to saving DJR. So if Amie's non-compete isn't an issue, somebody's going to join the long and ever-growing list of "former" Radio People. Wonder who it will be?

How did AP get out of her noncom? Others would like to know the secret.

Styles tried the flanker thing and it didn't work. It's not an automatic - and it can actually hurt their own station more. Cox tried it in Birmingham and it also failed.

Panhandler is right on with this. This kind of move needs heavy research and would still be burdened with a more than average probability of collateral damage.
There are other and better options for the 105.3 signal if TRP feels they need to dump urban.

I'm no expert, but I know a bit about radio and this market.

I have a interesting idea. Why not hire some air talent that promotes the lifestyle, format and passion of the
average P1 country listener, take the choir jingle package off the air, get a voice talent that sounds more
like the format and try the good old fashioned 'great radio' approach.

Seems a lot simpler than changing format of another station, blowing up the big station and all that
other jazz.

Just my humble opinion.

And a good one it is.

Jingles suck, can't stand the VO guy, and if I hear "another triple-shot" again, I think I will barf. The music needs some work also.
But it IS fixable without desperate measures. But I think it's too late, critical mass has been reached with the decision makers.

I think KMX should go country......Oh yeah Esp should go country.....Then maybe 103.9 should
go country. I love country.
