I just noticed that WKNO-TV will be shutting down its analog transmitter on channel 10 early -- May 1, 2009. That's about 6 weeks ahead of schedule.
What I don't know is the status on the co-owned CP for a DTV on channel 10 after the analog shuts down. The file shows an expiration date of 2/17 -- the old transition date -- and that seemingly has not been updated. I assume, though, that similarly-situated CPs got automatic extensions after Congress hopelessly muddled the transition date. That's my assumption, anyway.
Not that anyone would notice, but TBN-affiliated WBUY-TV channel 40 will also shut down early. Date set is 4/16, which appears to be nearly universal for TBN-owned stations. Its DTV has been on 41 for quite some time with a whopping 5 really-compressed streams.
