WKNR Outlook

We've seen the expansion to the three biggest markets by Good Karma recently and the promotion of their Cleveland exec to LA. While WKNR was the beginning of the company, does anybody have any insights or info as to their plans for 850, now one of their smaller markets?
1540 went away with little comment.

As long as they remain affiliated with the Browns and talking Browns/NFL non-stop, I doubt anything will change.

KNR finally found a groove a few years back, revolving around Rizz and Hammer in the AM, Emmitt Golden and Jerod Cherry in the afternoon, Tony Grossi front and center, and going all in on football (Browns, Buckeyes, High School Hysteria).

Golden's stock has gone up in recent years, as he has been doing weekend shows on ESPN Radio nationally.

1540's job was to provide ESPN Radio programming some clearance that 850 couldn't because of RBS and Browns Daily. WWGK falling by the wayside is hardly a blip in the grand scheme of things.

Good Karma is now fully ingrained in NYC, LA, Chicago, Wisconsin (Milwaukee and Madison), Cleveland, and West Palm Beach...quite a rise up from a merely owning a daytime pinwheel.

GK has grown from when Cleveland was its biggest market. Now I wonder if they will remain in the market.

You could make the argument that Good Karma is the outright successor to ESPN Radio’s owned stations division, with Cleveland, Milwaukee, Madison and West Palm Beach replacing Pittsburgh and Dallas. Good Karma runs ESPN’s digital sales and web arms, too.

WMVP and KSPN (with de facto simulcast KRDC) are standalones that don’t clear the entire ESPN lineup. WWGK cleared the daytime lineup because it was, for all intents and purposes, superfluous… dating back to when Good Karma bought WKNR. It’s a high-band class D daytimer that Craig likely saw no marketplace interest for, else it would have been sold off.
