WKOM

Does anyone here listen to WKOM out of Columbia? I have noticed that every hour, at the top of the hour, they do their legal ID, followed by the first few seconds of the intro of the next song, which is then interrupted by the intro to ABC news, which is then in turn interrupted by their local news! ??? I realize that they're a small station, and on satellite and automated, but it seems to me that they should be able to make smoother transitions into their top of the hour newscast! ??? I could understand if this only happened once or twice, but it seems to happen all time! ??? Can anyone shed any light on this?

It's a sad commentary on Nashville radio that I must listen to a station in Columbia to get my oldies/classic hits fix! ::)

I've never noticed them flubbing up but it doesn't surprise me. Wish this station would
move a little more north, like up to Franklin. I can barely get them in until I'm down in
the Cool Springs area.

I always lose them headed north when I get to 65 and OHB. I don't believe they can move their tower further north than they are now. However, the FCC would allow them a bit more power, but they've chosen not to apply for it.
