Just hearing the theme song again made me smile. Thanks for posting.

WGN from Chicago has the show on every now and then.

Didn't I see somewhere they are doing a (6 hour?) marathon for the anniversary? Possibly on Sunday 21 sept?

tscnrayp----you are correct--WGN will have a WKRP marathon on Sunday (9/21) beginning at 7pm est. In a weird twist, the marathon will be hosted by Cincy's own Pat Barry (I'm sure WGN'S Chicago viewers will wonder - why??)

Apparently some of Jacor's former management is running WGN-hence the "Barry" get...

That was truly a great piece. Does anyone remember the WKRP Veterans Day episode, where all of the radio stations in town, from as small as WZIP (1050), maybe even WCNW to WLW and Q102 all contributed audio as they were all on the air urging the Queen City to honk in support of Vets Day. Quite a different dial, to be sure.

Some guy named Randy Michaels is COO of The Tribune Company, which owns WGN.

[sarcasm] Whoever that is... [/sarcasm]

Im really thankful that people are embracing the anniversary so much. It was one of the best shows ever!

Wait....the radio dial Veteran's Day sfx came from Tom Sandman, if I remember correctly. WEBN is the last station airing on the sfx. They did, however, videotape over Blue Ash, Montgomery, Loveland and downtown.

When I worked at WCLU in the 80s, Rhoda (Irv's wife) showed me the letter they got from MTM asking for a dial position and slogan to use on the show. She also showed me the letter that WCLU sent back to MTM with the "Big CLU Country" slogan on it. They must have sent all of the stations in the market a letter asking for something they could use in that episode. Listen for "Big CLU Country WCLU" as Les is flying in the plane, along with the other stations in town. If I remember correctly, there are "Love 95" and "98 WLQA" mentions in that episode.
