"WKRP" on WGN America

OK, I don't want to beat a dead horse, but has anybody been keeping score of WKRP in Cincinnati on WGN America (I have in to DirecTV). Unless they are using the old syndication package it *seems* like quite a bot of music is still retained in the episodes. The only reason I say this is because I see later season episodes being played on their Retro Sunday night schedule and they seem relatively intact.

I wish I had a DVR to record these, as it looks doubtful that the later seasons will ever be released to DVD - edited or not!

WKRP was hit and miss last night with music. It becomes obnoxious when they crank up freebie music to cover the unpaid music in the background. This becomes annoying because the dialog is drowned out because of the music. I also noticed the shows included material that used to be cut out for syndication.

It had been a long time since I watched the show and was reminded how well it was done. The program could have use the same cast, writers and directors to do a show on the mortuary business and it would have been just as good. If CBS hadn't played musical chairs with the schedule WKRP could have lasted longer.
