WKSC and WBBM

Noticed WKSC is using "Chicago's #1 Hit Music Station" now along with liners like "Chicago's original hit music station"

On the WBBM side, they are playing the crap out of Kelly Clarkson - Because Of You and Since You've Been Gone as of recent. Probably because American Idol just started again but I could be wrong.

Wonder what happens next<P ID="signature">______________

So far as I can tell, "Chicago's #1 hit music station" is completely FALSE, unless they are skewing some arbitron numbers that I havent seen.

They can legally claim that if they are beating B96 in something like 35-54, but for all sakes and purposes B96 is still beating them by a substantial amount 12+

And, between you and me, kiss is sounding as mediocre as ever.

To the management of kiss: at least pretend that youre live by making your voicetracks sound like the jock is NOT screaming over the telephone.

Totally unacceptable, at least at my station...

look at it this way....

Depends how you view the slogan.

The way you're looking at it is that WKSC claims to be the #1
hit music station.

The other way to look at is that WKSC is your station for "#1
hit music"...similar to a station promoting itself as, for
example "Chicago's light rock station"...

A number of station's do that.

Let's now forget "This is the most listened to station between New York and Los Angeles. WBBM-FM Chicago"<P ID="signature">______________

B 96 is promoting Kelly Clarkson with their Mexico trip. I don't think she is a hip-hop artist.

Anyway the station is having the equivalent of a mid-life crisis.

B96 has been for almost 20 years a churban, not an out-and-out urban or hip-hop station.

They've gone back-and-forth on the R&B/hip-hop content, based on the competition and what's on the charts, but they essentially still have a CHR lean and have never gone for black audiences like GCI or Power.
