WKTS in KINGSTON

;DSo where is this station's studio? I was reading on the Internet how the same people who own Love 89 bought them out? Do they broadcast all the way from the Magnolia Avenue hub in Knoxville?

Finally, a post on the EAST TENNESSEE board that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TRI-CITIES and tri-cities radio. What a breath of fresh air.
Sorry, I don't have an answer for your question about the station in Kingston, TN., but it is such a relief to see a post about something other than tri-cities radio. I was expecting Radio-Info.com to change the name of this board from East Tennessee board to the Tri-Cities board.

How ironic to find this website and while looking at it see a post about my station. I manage WKTS 90.1FM The Bridge in Kingston. Yes, we are sister stations with Love89 in Knoxville and draw on their experience and resources but we do, in fact, broadcast from Kingston. The company I work for, which also owns Love89, purchased this station in September of 2006 and changed the format to Adult Contemporary Christian. My wife and I moved here from Knoxville to manage it. The studio is located in Kingston, as well as, the transmitter tower. Since the station is automated, we don't use live deejays currently. If you listen to the station and have heard either the Community Events Calendar or the Radio Church Bulletin, then you know my voice. Thanks for listening...please tell others about The Bridge. We are non-profit and would appreciate the additional listeners. Let me know if you have any comments or questions. DW

Re: 93.9 in Gatlinburg Still Love 89?

I drove up to gatlinburg recently and couldn't get Love 89 on 93.9 FM like i used to. Did they do away with the translator on the mountain that they had up there? Is anyone using 93.9 in Gatlinburg now? I can also remember when they leased it to the Toccoa Falls station in Georgia. Any comments?

The 93.9 translater is off the air;

FM TRANSLATOR W230AB IS OFF THE AIR AS OF DECEMBER 2, 2006 DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE RENTED TOWER STRUCTURE SUPPORTING ITS ANTENNA SYSTEM COLLAPSED DURING HIGH WINDS. THE TOWER OWNER HAS NO PLANS TO REPLACE THE STRUCTURE. FOOTHILLS BROADCASTING, INC., LICENSEE OF W230AB WILL BE FILING A MINOR CHANGE APPLICATION TO RELOCATE THE STATION IN A TIMELY MANNER.

This is what I found on the FCC website.

Also I just noticed that Moffitt just bought WMCH-AM in Church Hill, Tenn. 1kw daytimer. $100k.

Wow! That antenna bay was on the side of Charter Cable's relay tower on the top of Ski Mountain from what I remember. You mean that Gatlinburg lost cable service because of the winds? If I remember right there was a large round drum at the top of that tower that probably weighted it down alot. Also, WSEV FM's tower is up there on that same ridge too! Was their tower affected???
