WKXU 102.5

Wait a minute!!! Isn't Y102.9 the Triangle's oldies station? Or would 102.5 lean more toward the Triad?
I heard the 102.5-to-Hillsborough rumor a while back, but heard nothing else about it recently until now...

Back around 2001, they were also trying to get an application to move WKIX 102.3/Goldsboro to Smithfield. They were branding both WKIX and Louisburg's WKXU 102.5 as Country 102, but 102.3 has reverted to Kix. Both moves are still applications, per the FCC site.

What they should do is this.

I heard one time WPTF doesn't have much of a nighttime signal north of Raleigh. WBT added an FM west of Charlotte where its signal is weak at night. Why not make 102.5 FM WPTF-FM and air the same programming on both stations so it can be heard everywhere at night? Plus it's FM during the day north of Raleigh too.

Take a look at WYMY's primary coverage area on radio-locator (stops at the Durham city line) . . . then look at their ratings (huge). My money's on their extension of the La Ley franchise.
